Care Net of Wayne County helps women and men before, during, and after an unexpected pregnancy, regardless of their decisions. We are a non-political, Christian community outreach.

Our vision:

We envision a culture where life for the unborn is championed, and families are transformed through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our mission:

Our mission is to offer Christ-centered compassion, hope, and help to women and men facing unexpected pregnancy and making life-changing decisions.

Our history:

Care Net of Wayne County began as Study the Options Please (S.T.O.P.) in 1988 in Palmyra, NY. It is affiliated with Care Net National (care-net.org) in Virginia, which grew out of the Christian Action Council, founded in 1975. The Council was founded to challenge threats to the sanctity of human life, such as abortion, fetal research, genetic engineering, assisted suicide, infanticide, and euthanasia.

Care Net is governed by a board of directors and is funded purely by donations. The Executive Director (currently Deb Stoep) and the Office Administrator (currently Kelly Reynolds) manage a staff of trained volunteers and male mentors who peer counsel women and men in one on one personal meetings or in small groups.

The local center relies on national policy and procedures, training expectations and other standards to remain consistent and dedicated to the causes of a truly abundant life. Although Care Net has expanded its services to include parenting from pregnancy through the teen years, it remains committed to the original mission to meet spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the people who come to us. Please join us in prayer and action as we seek to strengthen and defend families only through and based on the redeeming power of the Lord Jesus Christ.
